Easter Monday

Today is Easter Monday, the day after Easter and the first day of our walk to express the risen Christ in our being.

My father grew up in the Russian Orthodox Church and on Easter the greeting for Easter in Russian is : Xris-to Vosk-rese and the response in Russian is: Vo isti-nu Vosk-rese or in English: Christ is Risen - Indeed He is Risen.

In today’s Newsday there is an article discussing the call to recognize Pope John Paul II as a saint in the Catholic Church. The author interestingly uses the gospel of Judas to support the teachings of the Gospel stating that we are to perform miracles as great as Jesus or greater and that sainthood is meant for all of us and not just those “highly seated few”.

The article reminded me of our calling to spread knowledge of the unity/love in Christ to our neighbors. How would the world be changed if we lived a life dedicated to realizing the Christ presence in all of us?

Christ is risen!—Indeed Christ is Risen in you!!
John
