Today's Daily Word - Sunday, November 30, 2008

Hope

The Christ spirit within is my source of ever-renewing peace and energy.

In preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus, I am open to a greater awareness of the Christ within me. With an understanding that the Christ Presence is my divine nature, I am filled with hope. I am expectant of good because I know that the Christ Presence is continuously blessing me.

My hope emerges from the light of love ever present within me. As needs arise or demands are made upon my time and resources throughout this holiday season, I affirm: The Christ spirit within is my source of ever-renewing peace and energy.

With this greater awareness of the Christ Presence, I am filled with hope.

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who lived in a land of deep darkness-- on them light has shined."--Isaiah 9:2

Protected


The light of God surrounds us.
If I myself or a friend or loved one is about to embark on a journey,
the first line of the "Prayer for Protection" comes to mind.
It helps me to remember that "The light of God surrounds us."
Recalling these words is a great source of peace to me.
I know that God is all powerful and everywhere present.
As I affirm my oneness with God,
I feel the blessed assurance that all is well with me
and with the people I pray for.
Today I hold family and loved ones in prayer.
I see each one guided, protected, and cared for in the best possible way.
It's true: God's presence lights our way every day.
"And you will have confidence, because there is hope;
you will be protected and take your rest in safety."--Job 11:18

Creating a world of peace

In unity with one another, we are creating a world of peace.

Dear God, I seek Your peace within my heart whenever I feel uneasy about events in the world. Mindful of Your presence, I relax and release all concern. I know that this world and all who are in it are Your creations.

Within me, within all people, Your peaceful presence is the assurance of divine order and wisdom that can transcend fears and insecurities that generate tension. I trust that Your spirit is working through the leaders and citizens of the world, establishing and maintaining peace and goodwill.

Thank You, God, for the understanding that any seeming discord is temporary and that Your presence is the permanent, creative power of this world. In unity with You and with all people, I am creating a world of peace through my thoughts, words, and actions.
