May Peace Prevail On Earth

September 21 is the World Day of Peace.
It was established by the United Nations.
The Prayer for today is
May Peace Prevail on Earth.

I would like to share with you a poem which Suzanne and I first heard performed by the choir at our friend’s (Wilbert & Judith) wedding in Holland. It was the only portion of the wedding which was in English which made it all the more meaningful to us.

THIS IS MY SONG

This is my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for lands afar and mine.
This is my home, the country where my heart is;
Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine;
But other hearts in other lands are beating
With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

My country's skies are bluer than the ocean,
And sunlight beams on clover-leaf and pine.
But other lands have sunlight too and clover,
And skies are everywhere as blue as mine.
Oh, hear my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for their land and for mine.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. John

Rain Rain Go Away!!!

We have had some inquiries since Sunday asking what are the plans if it rains Thursday night.

Right now weather.com has the rain ending by 7pm when it will be cloudy so we will have to wait & see if the forecast changes.

We will play it by ear.

If it is raining heavily we will have the service in North Valley Stream at our home.

Check our blog for updates and directions and know that it is all in divine order.
You can also call 516-823-0940 for a message.

Here comes the sun!!!

Amen

Song Research

Last night Suzanne & I were looking for some songs to sing while we are on the beach during our prayer meeting and came across this song. It has some great words. It was sung by The Weavers as a folk song.

Enjoy!

Iif I can find an mp3 I will post it.

Last Night I had the Strangest Dream
by Ed McCurdy
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war
I dreamed I saw a mighty room
Filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They'd never fight again
And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful pray'rs were prayed
And the people in the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round
While swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd never dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.

Walk on the beach.

Last night Suzanne & I went for a walk on Long Beach. It was a beautiful night. The sky was clear and the moon lit up the beach. The airplanes were all lined up with their lights blinking like stars and in the water we could see seven boats out in the ocean. We walked in the water at its edge and enjoyed its coolness and prayed. Walking on the beach at night can be a great centering experience.

It was a beautiful night and we look forward to meeting you there on Sept 14th for our World Day of Prayer service.

Peace.

John
